About Bagdrop

Bagdrop compares what every seller it can reach charges for the same golf club, and ranks them by the total you actually pay.

What it is

Bagdrop is an independent price comparison site for golf clubs, run from Ontario, Canada. It is a side project, not a company. It does not sell anything, hold stock, or take payment — it finds prices and sends you to the seller.

Where the prices come from

Prices are collected once a day from public shopping listings. Each listing records the seller, the price, the shipping cost where the seller states it, the condition, and the moment it was last confirmed. That last part is shown on every row, because a price checked six days ago is not the same claim as one checked this morning.

Nothing on the site is hand-entered, and no seller pays to appear or to be placed higher.

How the same club gets recognised

The hard part of price comparison is deciding when two listings are the same thing. One seller writes "TaylorMade P790 Irons 4-PW Stiff"; another writes "P790 Iron Set, Right-Handed, 4-PW, Dynamic Gold Stiff". Bagdrop reads loft, flex, handedness, shaft and set composition out of the title and groups listings that describe the same club.

Fittings that genuinely differ are kept apart. A 9° stiff driver and a 12° ladies driver are not the same club, and quoting one price for both would invent a saving that nobody can act on. Where a seller does not state a spec at all, the listing is shown and labelled as such rather than guessed at.

What it gets wrong

Plenty, and it is better to say so.

How it is paid for

Bagdrop intends to earn a commission when a visitor buys through a seller link. No such arrangement is earning anything today. If and when one does, it will never change the order of results: ranking is by total price, and nothing else. This is stated on every page.
